In Indore, the district administration has started the process to provide land ownership rights to residents of 29 villages recently included within the municipal corporation limits. Back in 2014, the Indore district expanded the municipal corporation limits by incorporating these villages. Those who currently live on residential land in these villages or their descendants without a lease can now apply for a lease as part of their land holding rights. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, during a recent meeting in Indore, issued instructions on this matter. Residents of these villages have been facing challenges in selling their homes or securing loans for house construction due to the absence of proper registration, lease, or related documents. As per the circular released by the Revenue Department on September 24, 2020, interested individuals can submit applications for land holding rights and will be granted a 30-year lease, which will facilitate their ability to obtain loans, transfer, or sell their property easily. Camps will be conducted on September 29, 2024, at tehsil offices in Juni Indore, Malharganj, Rau, Bicholi Hapsi, and Kanadia to accept applications. Eligible applicants will receive leases under the land holding rights after a verification process. SDM Rau, Vinod Rathore, mentioned that online applications for leases will be accepted at the camps and applicants must bring specific documents such as utility bills, governmental correspondence, plot-related documentation, relevant census information, property tax receipts, and voter list verification.
